Bev Tosh & Cecilia Gossen: Looking for Mona Lisa Online Auction
DaVinci’s Mona Lisa is the “the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world”. Planted firmly in cultural consciousness after its theft from the Louvre in 1911 (and subsequent return in 1914) the portrait is the archetypical masterpiece. 
In their popular exhibition Looking for Mona Lisa, Artists Bev Tosh and Cecilia Gossen consider Mona Lisa as an image and an icon. The show was first exhibited at Masters Gallery in June 2023 before travelling to Calgary's Central Library for display from December 1 - 31, 2023.
