About the Artist

Jean Lefébure ( Lefebvre ) 1930-2013. In 1949 Lefébure studies at the Ecole de Beaux-Arts under Paul-Emile Borduas. 1952 Moves to Paris and exhibits with Marcel Barbeau, Paul-Emile Borduas, Jean-Paul Mousseau, Marcelle Ferron and Jean-Paul Riopelle. Exhibitions: 1954 Salon des Realities Nouvelles, Paris 1955 Galerie Iris Clert, Paris 1962 Galerie Arditti, Paris; Galerie Levi, Milan; Spoleto, Italy. 1963 returns to Canada and in 1965 exhibits at Galerie Soixante with Edmund Alleyn, Fernand Leduc, Rita Letendre, Marelle ferron and Jean-Paul Mousseau. Represented in the collections of the Musee d’Art Contemporain, Montreal, Musee d’art de Joliette, PQ, Musée national des beaux-arts du Quebec and many important private collections.
